Institute for Computers

The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava

ITC was for 20 years the main research centre for the computer industry in Romania, then it provided software solutions for the Romanian economy. A significant segment of ITC work is multimedia solutions and technologies for digitizing content. Several important projects related to the creation of the Romanian digital heritage involved ITC as the main partner alongside cultural institutions, such as the Romanian Ministry of Culture, The National Museum of Art of Romania, The National Institute for Historical Monuments and The University of Art of Bucharest. All these projects involved complex teams composed of information technology, heritage and art specialists. The end result is award-winning products, such as the CD-ROM Brancusi, the web site of National Museum of Art: www.mnar.arts.ro and UNESCO’s National Heritage presentation: www.patrimoniulnational.ro.
